• The Management Information System (MIS) was scattered and provided in silos to top management.
• There was no confirmation regarding the alignment of accounts with the MIS.
• There was a need for a methodology and system-driven delivery of MIS to management on a timely basis, ensuring easy access and adherence to defined formats, along with certification on the reported numbers.
Solutioning
• Represented a top consultancy firm to verify and improve the company's monthly (MIS), making it more functional and efficient.
• Systematically designed a joint MIS reporting platform for different business and profit verticals, making it easier for the management to set short-term goals.
• Started publishing business vertical-level and overall company-level performance and MIS reports.
• Identified and reconciled MIS with published accounts, specifically highlighting non-reconciled items, along with reasons for omission and proposing solutions going forward, so that MIS is aligned to accounts.
• Recommended improvisations in MIS formats and presentation to enhance credibility and usability for decision makers.
• Identified issues in accounting and the accounting system (SAP - FICO) that resulted in inaccurate accounting and MIS numbers, helping the company avoid the following circumstances: bad operational decisions, reputational damage, economic loss, penalties, fines, legal action, etc.
• Suggested framework for the comprehensive redesign, realignment, and re-implementation of business processes and systems (specifically SAP) to effectively meet current business needs and establish a robust systematic work framework.
• Project time frame – Monthly 5 days for 10 months.
