SYSTEMS FUNCTIONALITY REVIEW – Leading General Insurance Company.
Problem Statement
• The core insurance and inwarding applications, responsible for recording, issuing policies, processing claims, and handling renewals and rollovers, were under evaluation.
• A functionality walkthrough and comprehensive front-end testing of the core application and inwarding software were required to identify and resolve any performance issues or loopholes that may exist.
Solutioning
• The POS (Point of Sale) interface on the core application provides access to all affiliated intermediaries across India.
• A test case documentation approach was undertaken in logical flow buckets, documenting and providing hands-on experience with the entire business flows on the system. This included everything from the setup of masters to routine tasks such as policy generation. The documentation was comprehensive and aimed to cover all aspects of the system's functionality and ensure thorough testing of each business process.
• Critical testing of each input parameter was conducted within exhaustive test scenarios. The goal was to identify any logical failures, bugs, and open parameters or issues in the system. The testing process involved meticulously examining the behavior of the system under various conditions and inputs to ensure its accuracy and reliability. Any identified failures or issues were promptly reported for further analysis and resolution.
• A complete lifecycle testing was performed across systems, covering the entire process from the creation of masters to policy renewal, claims processing, and more. This comprehensive testing approach ensured that all stages of the system's lifecycle were thoroughly examined and validated.
• New process and system recommendations were provided where opportunities for improvement were identified, along with addressing existing issues in the system.
