Problem Statement
• The transition from the legacy SUN accounting system to Oracle (ERP) in the middle of the accounting year 2013-14 was unsuccessful.
• Half of the year's data remained in the old system (SUN accounting), while the remaining half lacked data sanctity in Oracle ERP.
Solutioning
• Designed and finalized the approach for reverse mapping of data from Oracle to the legacy accounting system (SUN)and Conducted a thorough analysis of the data structure and mapping requirements between Oracle and the legacy system.
• Conducted an exhaustive study of data, parameters, and other relevant factors to understand the requirements for transitioning data between systems and designed comprehensive reports and outputs to ensure seamless data transfer and compatibility between the systems. We also collaborated closely with the IT department, providing guidance and expertise throughout the transition process.
• Conducted comprehensive data validation to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and authenticity of the data to be migrated to the old system.
• Implemented rigorous validation processes, including data integrity checks, verification of source data, and reconciliation with supporting documentation.
• Post data migration, performed validation of company performance, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and ensured the completion of all statutory records and registers to ensure compliance.
• Managed the consolidation of financial statements for the merged entity, incorporating the financial data of the two associated companies acquired during the same accounting year.
• Successfully handled the audit process conducted by lead auditor, managing all audit requirements, including providing necessary data, schedules, and statements for review.
